4th of July

4th of July was a busy day as always. We headed to the pool Friday morning for some swimming before the pool games began.

Here's Madison with one of very few smiles that day. She was in a grouchy mood. I think she was ready to go home after being away for 3 weeks.

Trey was happy playing with all the dive toys.

Tommy and Maddi getting ready for the shark race. They were leading all the way up to the last few feet and Tommy slipped. Oh well, maybe next year.

Madison wanted to ride the killer whale so bad. This is her swim teacher, Hannah. She was nice enough to take Maddi on a ride across the pool before they put them away.

We celebrated Maddi's birthday with Tommy's family since we won't see them around her actual birthday. She is waiting for her presents.
From previous posts, you know Madison has no fears and actually likes critters. We were at Target one day & she saw this spider that she said she wanted. Aunt Misty, Uncle Matt, Alex, Elizabeth & Luke got it for her for her birthday. She was very excited & she has played with it constantly since we got home. Here's video of her newest "pet".

After birthday cake, we went to Payton & Hunter's (and April's) house to watch fireworks. It was just us this year, since April & the twins were leaving for vacation early the next morning.

Eating their red, white & blue popsicles while waiting for the show.

Payton & I relaxing before fireworks.

The fireworks have started. You can tell because Maddi has her fingers in her ears.

This is how she stayed the entire show, which was an hour.

The G-burg fireworks. I am always impressed with their fireworks, but I think they were even better this year.
We got home Saturday evening in time for Tommy to turn around and head to Denver on Sunday. We're here for a week and then off to Disney World on Saturday. Stay tuned for those pics...
