Halloween 2009

Happy Halloween 2009 from the Warner house! We carved our pumpkins last Sunday, or should I say, cleaned them out and started carving. I got one of the pumpkin carving kits this year because my brother told me they were easy. Not extremely difficult, but very time consuming. Anyway, I did one on Sunday night and then the other 2 on Wednesday. I didn't even get a final picture of them but they turned out great.

Madison loves putting her hands in the pumpkins and getting all the goo out so she can make "pumpkin soup".

Trey was a little less timid this year and actually put his hand in the pumpkin. He just wanted to use his scoop though. He doesn't like it on his hands!

On Friday, Maddi's class paraded around the church. Here they are coming out of her classroom.

Here she is with one of her best friends, Abby.

We had the perfect day and evening for trick or treating. It was almost 70 degrees on Saturday and was still 60 by the time we got done.

Here's my little train, James and the beautiful Tinkerbell. Trey also wanted to be Tinkerbell, but daddy put a halt on that one, so he settled for James.

It was so funny when we were picking out his costume. He made it very clear that he wanted the James costume and not the Thomas one. I guess he wanted to stand out in the crowd.

We had a great evening and then we came home and Madison got to hand out candy. I think that is her favorite part of the evening. She kept running outside to see if any more kids were coming.
Hope everyone else had a great Halloween!

Team in Training

Hi everyone!

As most of you know, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer, in January. Around the same time, I began running to prepare for a 10K race. Since then, I have completed two 10K races and a ½ marathon and my mom’s cancer has been classified as inactive. While we are thankful for this, we know that the cancer can become active at anytime. I started thinking, how can I incorporate my running with helping my mom and the answer was “Team in Training.”

In March 2010, I will be running in the Disney Princess ½ Marathon in Orlando, FL. I am training for this event as a Team in Training member. Team in Training raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives or affecting more families. I am running this race in honor of my mom and everyone else battling blood cancers. These people are
the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

I am asking for any donations you would be able to make to help me reach my goal and, more importantly, to help find a cure for myeloma and all blood cancers. Please follow the link below to donate online quickly and securely. All donations are tax deductible. You will receive email confirmation of your donation. Thank you for your support and generosity!!!

OSU Homecoming and pumpkin patch

We got back from Barbados late Friday night and headed to Stillwater for the homecoming weekend.

Trey and Madison waiting patiently for the parade.

Grand Marshalls of the parade. Not too bad of an alumni group!

Barry Sanders

Madison with Uncle Justin.

Trey did not want his picture taken. This is the best shot I got of the 3 of them.

All the girls!

My friend, Molly, and I.

The game didn't kick off until 8:15 pm. Very late for the kiddos. This was actually just after kick off. She slept the entire 1st half and then Trey had a meltdown, so we left at halftime.

On the way home from Stillwater, we stopped in Turon, KS at a pumpkin patch that one of my friends had told me about. It was a great time. The kids loved it! They had a tractor train, petting zoo with horses, goats, pigs, and rabbits, pedal tractors, a huge slide, swings, hay ride, hay bale maze and other things!

Madison doing the same.

Riding the horse swings.

Barbados

For our 10 year anniversary, Tommy and I headed south to Barbados. We had a great time and I especially enjoyed the lack of cell phone & emails!!!!

The view when you walked out of our room.

Lounging on the beach. I think it's impossible to not have a great time when you have this view and all the drinks you want!

The one sunset we actually saw. The sun sets so early there, that we kept missing it. This is at 5:30.

After dinner.

We got to snorkel at a shipwreck with hundreds of fish. I didn't get pictures of that, but then we headed to the next place to swim with the sea turtles. Here's the one we were up close and personal with. They are so huge, especially when they come swimming up under you.

Our last night there. It started pouring down rain during dinner, so we got soaked walking back to our room. The weather was picture perfect and we had such a relaxing week. I decided that from here on, every anniversary needs to be celebrated this way!

Napa Valley

Tommy & I were able to go to Napa Valley this past weekend for a business trip. For those of you who know me, you know that my love for wine has not yet developed (unless you count Boone's Farm!) We got to taste a lot of wine and became very knowledgable on how to taste wines, but I can say that I still don't love it! We had a great time anyway and a nice long weekend.

Here is Tommy stomping grapes. They turned it into a competition, so we all get fairly messy and sticky with grape juice!

Here I am stomping. Our team won the competition by getting more than a gallons of grape juice in 7 minutes. We had a blast!

This grape vine is more than 100 years old. It is at the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and yes, they did invent the Jacuzzi as well!

Here are some grapes that we were able to pick and eat. They are so small, not like grapes we buy at the store. They actually look more like blueberries than grapes, but they are very good. I could have just stood out in the vineyard all evening eating grapes.

Here we are at Chateau St. Jean. They had the most beautiful gardens.

Zooma 1/2 Marathon

I ran my first 1/2 marathon on Sept. 20 in Denver. My goal was to finish under 2 hrs and I didn't quite make it. My final time was 2:01:34. I finished 99 out of 521 runners and felt good about this. The course was described as flat, which it mainly was except for a couple of areas. Unfortunately these areas were between miles 7 & 8 and then again between miles 10 & 11. I think they would have been much easier in the early stages of the race! Oh well, my goal for the next one will be under 2 hrs and I will make sure the course is flat!

I ran with my friend Kate and her friend Kelly. Here we are before the race. Notice how big our smiles are!

Here I am 2 hrs later just having crossed the finish line. I am still surprised I didn't just collapse at this point!

Here we are after the race. Still smiling, but looking a little more tired. Kate is smiling super big because she finished in 1:41. She finished 10th!!! She did awesome.

Kate and I enjoying a beer at the after race expo. They had massages, brunch and beer tasting. Definitely a great ending to the morning!

OSU vs Georgia game

We headed to Stillwater for Labor Day weekend and the opening weekend of OSU football. It was a huge game for both teams. This is OSU's first time ever to be in the Top 10 preseason poll (at #9) and we were taking on #13 Georgia. We headed up to tailgate about 10:30 and had a great time.

Here Maddi and I are modeling our new OSU shirts that our very talented neighbor, Kim, made for us. Thanks Miss Kim!!!!

This is our newest tailgate member, Molly. She is 3 1/2 months old and belongs to friends of ours from Garden City. Trey just loved looking at her.

Maddi would love to have "one of these" as she says. Not happening!!!

Grandma and Trey were partners in crime. He finished off his icing so headed over to Grandma's.

Caught red handed.

Last year, Madison made a friend, Kennedy, at the homecoming game. As luck would have it, they were right by us this weekend, so the girls played most of the day.
We had fun at Grandma's and OSU won so it was a great weekend!
